How Airis works

Airis stove guard. Next-level fire safety in two halves.

Airis installation overview showing the Multisensor above the hob and the power control unit below

Multisensor

Watches over the stove in real-time, checking the situation is safe.

Controller

Cuts the power if the Multisensor detects danger.

Airis simplifies building management

Suitable for all electric hobs

Airis stove guard can be used on any hob powered by electricity, including induction.

Long battery life

The Airis Multisensor has a battery life of 3 to 7 years. The AA batteries are easily changed.

Zero maintenance

Airis is simple to install, easy to maintain, and doesn't require refilling or flushing after activation.

Certified BS EN 50615

Airis fulfils and goes far beyond BS EN 50615, and helps meet the BS 9991:2024 standard.

AUX-connection

Airis PCUs have two auxiliary output signals compatible with most automation and security systems.

Wi-Fi connectivity

Airis Sense Wi-Fi allows for wireless building management functions.

Reliable, proactive protection.

Airis features cutting-edge, AI-powered sensing technology and robust build quality that exceed the stringent requirements of BS EN 50615 Part B: prevention of ignition.

  • Patented IR analysis monitors cooking and air temperatures, smoke and steam, and human presence at the stove.
  • Airis automatically cuts the power if it senses dangerous cooking conditions, stopping fires before they start.
  • Fail-safe fire prevention is achieved via constant bi-directional, resilient communication between the sensor and PCU.
  • Inbuilt pitch and roll monitoring allows Airis to prevent stove operation in the event of incorrect installation or tampering.

Simple installation, effortless integration.

Airis is quick and easy to install:

  • The Airis Multisensor can be wall- or hood-mounted with no need for drilling.
  • Airis-C Multisensor is ceiling-mounted with screws.
  • The PCU can be wired quickly and easily between the power outlet and the cooker.
  • Bluetooth connectivity allows for guided installation via the Safera app.
  • The set up (verification) process takes a matter of seconds.
  • Installation takes around 30 minutes.

Meet the PCU.

The Airis PCU is wired between the power outlet and the cooker. Where the hob is located above a built-in oven, the PCU can be mounted behind the oven. The PCU uses a 35A single phase relay to switch the power to the stove on and off. The unit is supplied with 6mm² T&E cable and accommodates stranded or solid wires up to 10mm². Two no-volt auxiliary outputs are included for connecting to building automation systems or telecare. Up to four water leakage sensors can be connected to the PCU to provide additional alerts on leaking appliances.

Hallsville Quarter Phase 2 development
Hanover Construction
“We selected the Airis BS EN 50615 system for the Hallsville Quarter development for its widespread use across the UK as well as its reliability and fail-safe design. With cooking fires accounting for approximately 50% of domestic fires, the system significantly enhances safety across the development. By preventing fires at their source, we're also reducing the likelihood of sprinkler systems being unnecessarily triggered, minimising potential water damage and disruption to residents.”
